everyone says "just chill at a friend's place." cool — which friend. you moved here for a job, your people are in another city, and saturday defaults to delivery + a half-watched show. friends house is the friend's place you don't have yet: games, a corner for whoever brought a guitar, snacks all night, drinks you carried in. everyone shows up not knowing anyone. that's the point.
